A second of every day, even the days you forgot to film.

Glimt finds the day’s best second in the videos and Live Photos you already took, picks the seconds where your child is in the picture, and puts them together into a film of your month or your year. All on your iPhone.

What makes Glimt different

You don’t have to remember to film.

Most days you already filmed something: bath time, a bike ride, the candles on a cake. Glimt goes through those videos and Live Photos for you and keeps the best second of the day.

Glimt is looking at the day’s videos…

It watches the day’s videos

Glimt looks at about two frames a second in every video and Live Photo, scores them for sharpness, faces and framing with Apple’s Vision, and keeps the best second. Screen recordings are left out, and so are frames that look like receipts or notes.

Who should Glimt look for?

It knows who to look for

Show Glimt one clear photo of your child, and it picks the seconds where that child is in the picture, not a sibling or a friend from the party.

Find the missing days

It fills the days you missed

Forgot a week? Tap Find the missing days, and Glimt fills the gaps from your camera roll. The days it picked get a small sparkle, and you can always choose another second.

Your year, one second at a time.

Every day becomes a picture in the calendar. When you’re ready, Glimt puts the seconds together into a film.

A calendar of your days

Each day shows the second you kept. Gaps are easy to spot, today has a ring, and a tap on a day shows its videos best first, with a slider to move the second.

A film with no watermark

A month, a year or any dates you choose, upright for the phone. The film is made on your iPhone, and it’s yours to keep and share.

  • The date on every second, if you like
  • Sound from the clips, or none
  • Saved to Photos or shared straight away
  • Days whose video you deleted are simply skipped

One small moment, every evening.

Glimt fits into the end of the day. A gentle reminder, a second filmed or found, done.

Today’s secondnow

Film a second of Emma now, or let Glimt find it in today’s videos.

A reminder in the evening

One notification at the time you choose, and only on days where a second is still missing. Never more than one a day.

Or film it now

Nothing on the camera roll today? Film a few seconds right in Glimt. The clip stays in the app, not in Photos.

Length per day1 second

One second a day becomes six minutes a year.

One, two or three seconds

Choose how long each day is. One second a day becomes six minutes a year: long enough to tell the story, short enough to watch again.

Your videos stay on your iPhone.

Glimt reads your videos and Live Photos where they already are, in Photos, and picks the seconds with Apple’s Vision on the iPhone itself. Nothing is uploaded or copied to a server, and the photo of your child never leaves the phone.

If your videos are in iCloud Photos, Photos may fetch the full video from your own iCloud when Glimt needs it. That’s Apple’s service; Glimt itself sends nothing anywhere.

No more lost days because you forgot to film.

Glimt costs $1.99, once. No account, no watermark, no tracking, and your videos never leave your iPhone.

That’s all it ever costs. Every feature and every future update is included, and so are the extra app icons. No subscription, nothing to unlock later, and if something’s wrong, you write straight to Peter, who made it.

Questions

Is it a subscription?

No. Glimt costs $1.99, once. There’s no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads and no watermark on your films.

How does Glimt pick the best second?

In each of the day’s videos and Live Photos, Glimt looks at about two frames a second and scores them with Apple’s Vision: how sharp they are, how well a face is caught and, on iOS 18 or later, how good the picture looks overall. Then it keeps the best stretch, not one lucky frame. You can always pick another video or move the second with the slider.

How does it know which child to look for?

Add one clear photo of the child’s face to the project. Glimt compares the faces in each video with that photo, on the iPhone, and prefers the seconds where that child is seen. The photo stays in the app and is never uploaded. It’s optional: without it, Glimt simply picks the best second.

Do Live Photos count?

Yes. A Live Photo holds a short video, and Glimt uses it like any other clip. Videos come first, then Live Photos; screen recordings are left out.

My videos are in iCloud Photos. Does that work?

Yes. If the full video isn’t on the iPhone, Photos fetches it from your own iCloud Photos when Glimt needs it, just as when you play it in Photos. That’s Apple’s service; Glimt itself sends nothing anywhere.

What happens if I delete a video from Photos?

Glimt doesn’t copy your videos; it remembers which video and which second you chose. If you delete the video, that day is skipped in the film and shows as a gap you can fill again. Clips filmed in Glimt stay in the app until you remove them.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Glimt has no account and no server. Picking, filming and making films all happen on your iPhone. Films go to Photos, or wherever you share them, and nowhere else.

Can I keep more than one?

Yes. Make one for each child, or for something else entirely: the garden, a puppy’s first year, your first year in a new home. Each has its own colour, calendar and films.

Which languages does Glimt speak?

English, Danish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Korean. The date on each second follows the app’s language.
